Chef de Cuisine Brasserie & Lounge
Are you ready to lead a team of motived chefs from all over the world, focussed on delivering the highest quality of food? Are you ready to train and coach 25+ chefs in the international environment we have to offer? Then becoming Chef de Cuisine at the Conservatorium Hotel might be for you!
What are you going to do?
Your role is to manage the day-to-day operations in the largest kitchen we have to offer. You will be responsible for training and motivating your large team, handling the menu's and cooperate with Purchasing to get the very best products our suppliers have to offer. Together with the executive sous-chef Nick Schuld, you create new dishes so our guests receive the very best a hotel has to offer, always setting the trend. In addition to the Brasserie & Lounge, you make sure the menu for Room Service is updated frequently and work together with the other kitchens to minimize food waste. Within budget, you plan and organize deliveries of both ingredients and equipment.

The Conservatorium Hotel is a 5 star luxury hotel in Amsterdam and has been selected as one of the best 25 Luxury hotels of Europe over the past 5 years. We are part of ‘The Set Hotels', which currently consists of 3 hotels (Amsterdam, Paris, London) all operating on the highest level of hospitality. Our guests consist of CEO's, world famous artists and experienced travellers, which we service with our 300+ employees. We run a 24/7 operation and help each other where necessary.

Job Requirements

Who are you?
An experienced head chef/ sr. sous-chef that offers our guests an amazing experience in a luxury high-end environment. He or she is energetic and is able to train, coach and motivate a large team of chefs from all backgrounds and nationalities.
Furthermore he or she has:

  • Experience as sr Sous-Chef or head chef in a luxury environment;
  • Speaks fluent English, Dutch is preferred;
  • True leadership skills, which will be tested during the selection process;
  • Experience creating menus and can think ‘out of the box';
  • Is already living in Amsterdam or surrounding cities, with valid work- and residence permit.
  • The will to work with the team, stands for the team and works together with chefs from the other kitchens.
