Retail Merchandiser - Greater Montreal Area

This role has a main focus on the Greater Montreal Area but will require travel to customers across the Province of Quebec

Job Summary

Perfect Store Champion focusing mainly on managing, maintaining and implementing CORE in-store merchandizing fundamentals such as distribution, building displays, installing points of sales material (POS) and permanent racking.

The merchandiser work in tandem with the territory sales representative who will sales programs, negotiate agreements, open new accounts and provide training while he/she will execute the required and agreed program.

Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver/execute the PERFECT SHELF (Numerical Distribution availability)
      • Product Availability: Shelf replenishment of all skus listed thru managing back store inventory and front of store distribution
      • Ensure identifying with store manager gaps on inventory
      • Products rotation on shelf and on display
      • Price tags updated
      • Promotion POS marketing material implemented and updated
      • Full planogram resets
      • Racking installation
    • Deliver/execute SECONDARY LOCATION (Promotional focus)
      • Execute retail programs (promotions) expectations on display
      • Build Brand awareness leveraging promotion POS and Brand material
      • Leverage back store inventory to influence additional display space

    • Reporting/out of store duties
      • Track, update and report on call progress
      • Talented at developing strong relationship with all customers, understand the importance of 'customer first' and pride himself/herself in providing the highest possible service level
      • Follow the 'Step to a Call' process
      • Follows Mars Principles to make the right decision and communicate pro-actively any situation that would raise concerns
      • Actively participate in Team Impact Sessions to build strong effective teams
      • Participate in conventions/trade shows where company representation is required
      • Actively participate in regional and national meetings (Travel overnight required)

    • General Administration
      • Leverage internal system 'Pitcher' in order to update the team on each visit daily
      • Daily management of emails, voicemails
      • Periodical Performance evaluation in ITMS

    • Adhere to applicable Quality and Food Safety Policies and Quality Management System requirements to ensure compliance to MARS standards.
    • Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit
    • Must be able to lift an 18kg bag of pet food
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license (qualify for fleet insurance criteria)
    • Maintain company vehicle in safe/clean working condition in accordance with the fleet manual
    • Other duties as assigned

Education & Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years working in a retail or sales capability
  • Any Pet Nutrition will be strongly considered
  • Technical training can be offered
  • Bilingual French & English
